Done with the 2d animation made with harmony, i’m back working on the pixel art animation for Metal Dragon. Basically it’s all about correcting and cleaning, it s not as bad as i thought it would be. Unfortunately this is taking forever!
So this is how the first level starts… for now ;)
Ok… I have been working on “Double-T” the first level’s boss (this is the name so far). I wanted to make a character that was a mix of a punk from Hokuto no Ken and a mexican Luchador. He’s kinda crazy and feral. Since his sprites are bigger than the previous characters I had to change the way I was drawing him: since he is bigger I can use the pencil like a regular 2d animation. So, it actually took me a while to figure out even though I kinda knew it from last week… watevs. More to come.
These are the the attack animations for the characters. I am not happy about how the mage and the archer came out, expecially the mage. I will let them be for the time being, eventually I will fix them.
This is not exactly what I had in mind, but I am working on itl ike crazy. The colors are off I will give it some time, let it seep for a while and then fix it next week.
Rough “Run Cycle” Animation for the 4 playable characters.
Level 1: Djadongo Village
The first level for the upcoming “Metal Dragon” is a small village at the outkirts of the Kingdom of Asu. Here the players will face for the first time the ruthless Trampa Troopas.
WIP of the 1st level. I would like to say that I am halfway done, but it is a little less than that, plus this will require much more polishing and color correction.
It took me a while though…
It has been almost a month since my last upload. I had originally planned to work on “Metal Dragon” during the holidays but, as usual, there was a detour and I had to rethink my plans. During this brief and unexpected hiatus i had fun as well, fully enjoying friends and family, so I can’t really complain and just accept it had happened. I am very grateful of my collaborators who have been very understanding an still show commitment to the project after this time of inactivity. There is nothing I am more grateful of. That said, now it’s time to restart and catch up. 2018 will be a bumpy year.
